Consumnes and Blistering Barnacles

An appropriate bird to see on one’s birthday when one has reached coot-hood.

A pleasant birthday excursion is Consumnes River Preserve. I didn’t really take any photos of notable quality but you all are capable of googling and finding photos other people took, aren’t you?

Notable: A flock of Sandhill Cranes flew overhead calling a flir-flir-flir cry; a meadowlark with brilliant yellow chest; many many many voles crawling all over the ground.

What are those treadmarks?

So anyway. Does my sister know me or what? Great gift book.

As a gift to myself I ordered five or six more Tintin books to bulk up my collection.
